A friend of mine acquired a small collection of promo's, and I eagerly started begging for one of them. A 1959 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight. I have always wanted to try to un-warp a early promo, and he agreed to donate one to the cause. I asked for the worst one. Here is what I started with.
I believe that I started with the closer of the twins, and then I went to work in standard Newt fashion. I was going for a street-sleeper, or as it is named a street-Sweeper. I spent about 30-45 minutes with a pair of gloves on and a heat gun, after careful dis-assembly. Then, as a fun and quick project, I painted, weathered, and lightly detailed er-up. It is a curbie, no motor/hood open. It "has" a 487cu.in engine, 4-speed trans., exhaust cut-outs with straight dumps behind the front tires, and a pair of slicks in the back seat, just in case. The car is still banana-shaped, but it was fun, it's cool, and most of all, it is unusual! Thanks for looking!

Oh, and just in case you are wondering; my friend does NOT want to part with any of the other promos in the picture.
