As we talked about in the last meeting, I/we are building a Car Corral to display our models on at various shows. It will be our ongoing base until we tire of it or we come up with something better. The building has commenced. It is 3x5, has a short section of road, with a ditch, culvert and a gravel driveway. There is a hemp-rope type fence all of the way around, and a picnic hill in the back corner. I want to apologize for doing the majority of it alone, but my schedule makes it difficult to get others here at the sporadic times that I work on it. Fish did stop for a short, idea bouncing session a few days ago, and HRT will be coming tomorrow, I think. I will post pics when I can, and will keep you all posted of possible "build dates", but don't hold your breath. I hope it will be acceptable to all. I do, however have a request, or two. I will be asking HRT to assemble and paint the Porta-potty kit that I got, and I need someone to build a standard, wooden picnic table, or two. Also, we will be needing a few garbage cans/barrels for the grounds. Any takers? Lemme know so we know who is doing what, and we'll get this bad boy hammered out before NNL. Thanks.

Hrt stopped over and is going to build the john. He brought up an interesting dilemma; we should have a vehicle with poseable steering, or wheels turned left, with a driver! And a couple of other vehicles with drivers. Who has what? And is willing to show it at the NNL? Thoughts? Any takers on the picnic tables?

Sorry, I can't make it down for the build this weekend. I did pick up some balsa wood and will give it a shot at some picnic tables and bring them to the next meeting (I'll also post pics when done)

Well, my plans for late this afternoon were cancelled, so I worked on it from noon till 5. The only thing left to do is string the fence, add the water, and install the props. HRT, how is the out-house doing? I may be in town tomorrow, if it is done, I could pick it up, or? I will be working on it off and on tonight, prepping figures, making a driver for the Bottrop truck (any objections?), etc. Is anyone doing garbage can barrels? Does anyone have a car turning left with a driver? Who is all going to the NNL and wants to put cars on it? Does anyone have any other input or ideas for the base? Please let me know, and Bob, thanks for the reply.

Outhouse isn't done yet. Major assembly is done though. Need to fill a few pinholes and throw some color on, then a little detail painting.
Had to deal with sump pump issues and an oil change on Amy's car today. I may end up bringing it to the NNL myself. It will definitely be done though.
I can bring however many cars are needed. I'm not entering anything in the show classes.

HRT, thanks for the reply! I hope everything in sump-pump land is ok. Remember, your buddy Newt is the sump-pump KING! If you VER need anything water-related, let me know. (I even sleep with one under my pillow ). I'll let you know how many cars later this week. I took some pics. today, but either my computer or photobucket or both is being a REAL bitch! 2 hrs. of B.S. and still no download! Anyone else having issues with it? Talk to you soon.

I almost called you about it. I know you have a little experience in this area . My switch went bad, but luckily the default is always run. Couldn't find a replacement in town , found one online and ordered it. Put it on a timer for a temporary fix.

Hey Bob, don't worry about the table(s). That's the cool thing about this base; we can always add to it or change it up a little. We don't have any figures to "sit" at it yet anyway. But, thanks for your efforts! And, yes, we are still on for a meeting Sunday, the 14th at 7:00 p.m. Have a great weekend!
