Lookin' Good HRT. What a nice change. Can't go wrong with a "Gassered" Tri-5 Chevy.
And I thought it was molded in red...

It IS molded in red...the orange is what's left of the many layers of paint that were on it ....the wheels/tires are from the parts box, and the motor is from the Monogram '56 that I built in high school...been rollin around the parts box many moons

Lookingood HRT, are you going to leave the patina look? Can't wait to see it done. The wheels/tires look Monogram '69 Camaro-ish? "Ignore the paint boys, let's put all the money in the motor!"

Good eye Newt! The fronts are from a '69 Camaro, the rears I think are from the old Monogram black and flames '55 Chevy? The patina is stayin!! Gotta add some rust n dirt...how about that hatchet wheel well radius job?? What kind of time do you think a '57 Chevy with a blown small block would run? Need to write the time on the window.

Love the dio Newt! The 57 is coming along good too. I'm scratchbuilding the other half of the front suspension and going to see how far you can polish a turd. Oh yeah, make that a THUNDERTURD

Looks, GREAT! I wanna race it! I like the fender with holes! Did you drill out the bumper for the exhaust? or is that just painted? Looks good.

I love it HRT...much, much better than what you started with. It's very cool and has a don't F*@# with me attitude.

Loooking goood mon! If more people built cars like that, my ol beast in the garage would almost be attractive. Project Thunderturd is coming along well. I'll even try to post some pictures if I can remember how. I almost have front suspension rebuilt to stock, but I have to admit I was tempted to crank it up and give it the gasser treatment. What do you guys think? Cool or tacky?

My imagination does not even come close to your Thunderturd! I would have hacked it up Nascar style probably.... so my advise is GO NUTS! and, "dare to be different".
