At the February 5th meeting we decided to have a fun project called the "Dumpster-Dive Build-Off" challenge.
10 random built kits were bagged up and distrubuted amongst the victims...er, um, I mean club members that attended the meeting.
The idea of this build-off was to take a crappy builtup kit and turn it into an award winning showpiece that could potentially end up in the Smithsonian Museum...NOT. In reality this is all about having fun.
The challenge is to take a giant turd and make it less "turdy". To change a built model without restoring it. To make subtle changes and make it COOL .
There are NO rules to this buildoff other than it has to be done by the next club meeting. Keep it simple guys, this is meant to be fun. I do NOT want you spending your valuable time with these. 1 to 2 hours max (or less).
There might even be a prize involved for the best turd-polisher.
If there is anybody who could not make it to the meeting and wants to get involved in this build-off, feel free to contact me for your "Bag-O-Fun".
Without any further ado, here are the boys and their PRIZES ;D
Newt and his super-not-cool dumpster 'cuda (cause we all know how much newt loves convertibles ).
Next up is Fish and his Rustang.
Man, this body style Stang rocks...NOT
HRT got the biggest turd in the punchbowl...one sweet-ass '57 Chebby.
Complete with professionally painted whitewalls...did they use a roller ??
I must say I'm quite jealous of Mr. Surprise's pristine '53 Vette ;D
I'm sure glad I didn't get that one...did I say that out loud
It's a good thing that BruceJ absolutely loves 60's musclecars because picked himself one fine '69 Firebird.
Cal, sorry yours would not go down the Toilet no matter how many times I flushed (I even plunged ).
Was metalic pink a factory color for '70 SS Chevelles
And bob scored with this peach of a '37 Chevy hot rod.
Actually that's the nicest of the group...hey bob, can I get that back from ya ? Just kiddin'
